RV levelers don’t have to be complex. Take it back to your childhood days and let these large Lego-style blocks build pyramids of level protection for your RV.

Each block will lift a tire an inch or work together to stack up higher.

Lynx is the original RV leveling system, and they haven’t changed up their industry-leading approach one bit.

Slowly roll your tires onto the blocks or slide one underneath your tongue jacks to protect the pavement.

Leveling your trailer is a necessary step, but that doesn’t mean it has to be complicated. These RV leveling blocks come with a high weight capacity and a 10-year warranty, all wrapped up in a zippered storage bag.

  • The original levelers
  • Proven to last decades

Leveling blocks have gone deluxe as Anderson levelers take the guesswork out of parking.

Unlike typical RV leveling blocks, these curved ramps let you roll until you hit your desired height precisely.

Paired with a leveling app or a good set of eyes, you can simply drive your tires up the ramped blocks until you hit equilibrium.

The only flaw in these levelers is that they won’t reach past four inches, which is enough to make us think twice before committing.

Realistically, if you’re RV travel trailer is more than 4 inches off balance, you may need to make further adjustments anyways.

But once you’ve found the perfect spot, you can trust these heavy-duty blocks hold some serious weight, up to 30,000 lbs, and finish up your RV leveling in style.

Included in your tires’ leveling kit are two quick levelers that function a lot like Anderson’s leveling system, as well as two-wheel chocks (which also work as block caps) and durable grip maps to keep your vehicle from slipping onto the ground.

A lifetime warranty protects all this leveling block action, so you’ll have everything you need to keep your RV straight for decades.

These fast and easy RV leveling blocks are Camco’s answer to Lynx’s success.

The Fast Ten levelers work the same way as industry-leading blocks but are twice as wide, offering more protection and stability for bigger tires.

Camco hasn’t stated an official limit to the strength of these blocks, but we have noticed some durability flaws.

This specific block set isn’t the most heavyweight.

Why Should I use RV Leveling Blocks?

If you’re asking this question, it means you are lucky enough never to have experienced a night tilted.

Ask anyone who’s logged a few states under their belts, and they’ll swear by the importance of a level night’s sleep.

Even paved campgrounds won’t always have perfectly level parking areas, as prior years of use will have worn down certain areas. If you plan on boondocking on unmaintained terrain, the issue gets even worse.

Leveling blocks are easy to use, require no installation, and will save your refrigerator, stove, and neck night after night. If RV blocks look like simple tools, that’s because they are.

Most of the highlighted options aren’t much more than stackable blocks, but their durability is priceless.

DIY blocks like a solid chunk of wood may work great for your tongue jack, but to get one tire to meet the other, a durable leveling block under your wonky wheel is the easiest way.

Makeshift blocks may seem like an easy way to save a few bucks, but they’ll corrode easily, and the replacement costs quickly add up.

Investing in your own leveling blocks will allow you to set the parking brake without fear of a runaway 5th wheel for decades – all for less than 50 bucks!

Choosing the Best Leveling blocks

Hopefully, We’ve convinced you to give these handy blocks a try. Now comes the hard part, narrowing down the field. We’ve laid out five great options, each one with pros and cons.

There is no specific set of leveling blocks that dominate the field, so take a look at these essential factors and think about how they’ll affect your personal camping needs.

Above all else, the best leveling blocks are the ones that make your life the easiest.

Maximum Specs

No company in their right mind will tell you their leveling blocks support less than the competition, but someone has to finish last.

Let’s explore the peaks these blocks have reached, so you’ll know if your preferred leveling blocks make the cut.

Height

Height means the tallest your blocks can stretch to balance out one side of your travel trailer. Stackable blocks can extend to 5 inches, giving them a slight height advantage over a ramp-style single leveler, which can only reach up to 4 inches.

However, this difference isn’t so apparent in practice. You’ll have to stack your blocks together to reach up, so it would take all 10 of your leveling blocks to reach 5 inches high. That leaves nothing left for your tongue jack!

Realistically, if you have to level any part of your RV more than 4 inches, you might want to take a second look at your parking job.

Weight

Your trailer won’t stay balanced for too long if your leveling blocks can’t handle the heat. Most smaller trailers will be OK using any leveling block on our list, but heavyweight RVers beware: some leveling blocks only hold up to 30,000 lbs.

A few brands on our list can support 35,000, and some, like Camco’s heavy-duty option, can handle up to 40,000. Anything more than that will require some backup, no matter which leveling blocks you choose.

Durability

Everything you throw in your trailer and haul down the highway at 70 mph will have to have great durable qualities, and your leveling blocks are no different.

Your camper may lean on your leveling blocks for a week straight, putting thousands of pounds onto your levelers constantly.

Durability is the reason to skip DIY levelers and go for the real deal. The ABS plastic on every block on our list can go way further than supporting the weight of your trailer. They can also last through years of sun, rain, sleet, and mud.

Type

We covered two main leveling block styles in our review:

Stackable

The O.G. blocking style, these blocks work a lot like Legos for your trailer. The standard size is 8” by 8”, providing a 1” lift. You can stack ‘em up to 5” high on each wheel.

Make sure to stack these in a pyramid style (more on that below!) to provide a smooth roll on and off your blocks.

Ramps

The new kids on the block, adjustable and cuttable ramps provide quick and easy leveling for single or dual wheel trailers. Often called single-piece levelers, ramps promise speedier leveling.

Line up your tires and reverse slowly through different plateaus until you find the perfect fit.

The downside to this efficiency is a lower maximum height. Usually sitting around 15” X 6”, these blocks can only reach 4” high.

How to Use RV leveling blocks

The key to any leveling job is patience. Some blocks promise a smooth trailer in seconds, but you should expect a healthy period of trial and error before you get the hang of it.

When we find the perfect spot, I always love sticking around for a while. It’s worth spending an extra 30 minutes on day one to ensure our trailer will be well set up all week long.

Scout out your spot

Make sure you arrive well ahead of sunset to get the complete picture of your site. Take a walk around camp, spotting flat spots perfect for dropping anchor – bonus points if it’s close to a firepit

Level with your Tow Vehicle

This tip only applies to anyone camping on soft ground or unpaved areas. You can make minute adjustments simply by pulling in and out of your spot.

Your vehicle will surely make an impact on the earth, and you can level out any divots the old-fashioned way.

Use Multiple Levels

Any proper department store camping aisle will have many bubble levels that you can hook up directly outside your trailer. Hook one level in the middle of your trailer’s rear and one on each side at the halfway points.

The rear level will tell you if the trailer is tilted forwards or backward, and the side bubbles explain horizontal balance.

Teamwork

No matter the weather, someone has to go out and check on those bubbles. Co-pilots have a pivotal role in the leveling process.

It often involves reversing, and an extra inch or two makes all the difference. Work out an easy hand signal and communication system that allows the spotter to guide the driver through minute details.

Solo levelers can find great applications that will outperform any set of human eyes and even calibrating the jack point for further efficiency.

Place your Blocks

Your level reader should show you exactly how many inches you are off balance. Use that information to set up your blocks.

Stackable:

Place your blocks snuggly behind your tires. 1” or fewer levels only require one block, but anything more significant will have to use a pyramid: place your blocks in this pattern: 1-2-1, 1-2-3-2-1, etc.

You can’t expect your tires to jump up 2” on their own. This stack brings a smooth roll.

Ramps:

You can make minor height adjustments anywhere from .5” to 4”, typically with plateaus or wedges to lock your tire in place every .5 or 1.” Slowly roll onto your desired height, and place the included wedge to lock your ramp into position.

Double Check and Celebrate!

Take one final look at your leveling bubbles and make sure everything is happy. Go back down under and place a wheel chuck to lock your tires into place further.

Now, you can kick back and have a drink.
